Parent Feedback
“Highly recommend Joe McMurray. He has been teaching my daughter [piano] this past year and she is doing great. Excellent demeanor. Added bonus is he plays music at the Old Beach Farmers Market and other local venues so you can check him out.”
-Ryan, parent
“VB friends, Emerie has been taking guitar lessons with Joe McMurray for the last few months and is loving it. Check out his site for more info on all-levels guitar lessons and beginner-intermediate piano, bass, drums, mandolin, ukelele, banjo, sax and clarinet lessons. Best part? If you want, he can come to your house. Tell him Emerie sent you ;)”

“As a child, I took piano lessons for years and learned how to read music. In under 10 lessons Joe taught me music theory which gave me the gift of truly understanding and knowing how to play the piano. Joe is a talented musician who is a master of many instruments including guitar and piano. On top of being a skilled, knowledgable, and personable teacher, Joe is also a delightful and impressive performer. I feel grateful to know him.” -Trichelle, adult student
“My 10 year old son was reluctant to take piano lessons. Joe immediately captivated his attention by teaching him Piano Man by Billy Joel in two months, inspiring my son to continue with lessons.” – Trichelle, parent
“Joe is an excellent teacher who instilled a love of music across all genres in our daughter. He is a natural teacher, kind and encouraging, who listens to his students and works to find music pieces that will motivate them to play and push them to progress. We were amazed at the progress our daughter made while taking piano lessons with Joe.” – Nancy, parent
“Joe made it seem effortless to teach our 6 year old daughter to play the piano while being engaging, fun and relevant. His unique background in engineering, fine arts and performing truly make him a one of a kind instructor. Both my wife and I wish we could have had a “Mr. Joe” when we were her age!” – Josh, parent
“I was there for one of her lessons. Joe was so patient and kind with Emerie. She is so comfortable with him and yet, he doesn’t let her totally take over!”
– Sherri, grandparent
